I may have gotten the last room in the hotel but for the first time ever, I refused to stay. The front desk reversed charges without issue, and considering how busy it was I was satisfied with that. In the room, all the lights were on when I got there, which was odd - like it was recently occupied. Rug filthy, sheer curtains on ground floor -we tried to cover the window with the bedspread but still felt people could see in Old food container on desk chair, door obviously damaged with the lock about to fall off, no chain on door, and the door barely latching. I didn't want to sit on the couch. I have high tolerance for discomfort, but when it came down to having to clean the toilet seat before use, I left. I know they were overbooked. it was a rough, dark, crowded night for driving. Most hotels were sold out. and available rooms ran from $350+. I heard the desk telling people no rooms were available. Since the hotel was fully booked, some of the rooms must have been acceptable. I ended up 15 miles away at twice the price sharing a king bed with my sister. I'm hoping to never drive or stay in phoenix again. I gave three stars for service because the concierge was doing his best and was cooperative. I've been in worse locations so other than room condition the location was acceptable.

Do not ask for special requests...
We had a very horrible experience in October. Van was towed away and my daughter was threatened by security guard. Resolution has not been completed. Will check on our legal stand on what to do.
Came back in January for 8 days. Asked 4 days in a row for room to be cleaned because of having a 2 year old. It is cool here, so wanted to get in a hot tub because of health issues. Hot tub so hot you can't even get in. Place is a horrible smell with drugs...
The New GM and those at the desk was very unwilling to take care of the situation. Do not recommend this place at all. We were supposed to get 50% off, and they refused to. Any Top people, please get a hold of me about this horrible situation!

I stayed at La Quinta Inn Phoenix North for 4 nights. I have stayed at many hotels in the US and this is by far my worst experience.

On my second night, someone try to enter my room at 1am when I was sleeping. Fortunately, I used the door security guard so that person was unable to get in. After a few minutes, a security guy knocked on my door asking if I paid to stay in my room. I said yes and he asked me to get out of the room and show the proof. I said to give a moment and closed the door. I then called the front desk and told her about the security guy in front of my room and she said I already checked out according to the system and she asked me to pack my stuff. I told her I will meet her at the front desk and she asked the security guy to back away from the room. When I was on my way to the front desk, I bumped into a white lady with tattoos who is smoking in front of the lobby entrance. She asked me how can she help me and I told her I’m from room XXX. Apparently, she was the lady I talked to on the phone when I called front desk. I showed her my receipt showing I was staying for 4 nights and she nonchalantly apologized. I had a hard time sleeping after that because of the shock and feeling unsafe.

The next morning, I told another front desk staff that was working that morning about the incident and she said she still see my name on the room. When I asked for any kind of compensation, she said she will bring it up to her regional manager. I still haven’t received anything until today.

Because of this experience, I will stay away from this hotel in the future and recommend others to do the same.

State at La Quinta on Bell road in North phoenix. I called the front desk to inquire about an item that I had lost in the room a piece of jewelry that was very important to me. I was told that I would need to call back when housekeeping was done to see if they had found something. I explained that the missing jewelry was left the day before. I found it very unprofessional that housekeeping retains lost items and that valuable items that are left in the room are not turned over to the management. I think it's an appropriate for housekeeping to retain valuable property that's left by la Quinta's guests

Overall, the room was completely adequate. It seemed more like it should be branded a Super 8 or Days Inn rather than a La Quinta. Usually La Quintas are much nicer, but the price was comparable to what I often pay at Super 8.

The check-in process left plenty to be desired. We arrived at 11:56 and were told that we just barely made it before midnight. The clerk informed us that they cancel all reservations at midnight, charge a no-show fee, and cannot check anyone in. We made my reservation several weeks in advance and flew into Phoenix for a wedding. Our plane arrived around 9pm, and it took time to exit the airport, find somewhere still open late for dinner, drive there, and then eat before driving to the motel. Someone arrived just after us and was turned away, despite having also made a reservation and even leaving a note that he would be arriving late, but before 1am. That is infuriating. I understand that motels need to run nightly cycles to close out one day and begin the next, but there should be some process in place to allow for late check-ins for those who need them. The clerk told us that our room was their last room available. If that is true, they must have already cancelled the other guy's room and sold it to someone else and charged the other guy a no-show fee. That is double dipping and should be illegal. So, no, I definitely would not recommend anyone staying at this motel, especially if there were any risk at all of them arriving after midnight.
