I have stayed at this hotel several times. This last stay was the best. Sade, at the front desk, was expecting my arrival and greeted me with a smile and wished me a Happy Birthday. Upon me arriving to my suite, she had champagne and a snacks waiting on me. The best time of all! Thank you Sade!

Let me say that this was my first time visiting houston, and this area was top-notch! We were less than 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to Seth and Stacy! They were so professional and accommodating. Whenever we would pass through the lobby area, everyone was friendly. The rooms are a little outdated, and we had to wait a while on towel request, but overall, it was clean. We felt safe, slept well, and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely visit again.

My wife and I stayed here last weekend for a wedding. We got back late the first night and the room we booked didn't have working A/C. I went downstairs for another room and received a room that was supposed to be out of service because someone had smoked in it. After the second trip we received a very small room that we could barley walk around in. This is not what we paid for. The cleaning staff never showed up even though we requested them so we had no clean towels or new coffee the whole weekend. I spoke to them today about refunding the security deposit that was charged to my card immediately upon check in. I also requested a partial refund for the first night because of the extreme inconvenience we endured. I was told a refund was not possible due to the fact our reservation was closed. I do not believe that for a second. It is 2024 and they are a huge company. They can credit my card back. On top of all this the room had a strange copper pipe coming out ot the shower ceiling and very low water pressure. I would recommend staying somewhere else. The rooms are bad and they are not willing to help rectify the situation.

We were in Houston for my Aunt's funeral. The family chose this hotel being close to the funeral home. The rooms are very small including the bathroom which can only be used by one person at a time. The cons: room/bath size and old, price for typical hotel breakfast ($22) and other food items were too expensive., Swimming pool closed. The Pros: The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel seemed clean overall. When we left the front desk clerk said they were renovating the hotel soon. Great! it needs it! (maybe knock off a few dollars off the price of the rooms until then)

Filthy conditions upon checkin. See photos. Potent smell of air freshener combined with all the old carpet was nauseating.

I did notify the staff who were nice and offered another the room. The other room was a bit cleaner but smaller and the highway noise was super loud as it was right outside the window. I decided to pick the dirty room instead of the noisy one.

Surprisingly low standards for a Marriott.

Update: Was woken up by the cleaning crew shouting in the hallway at 830 am.

We were in town for a wedding and our group reserved several rooms. My husband and I have stayed at many Marriotts over the years. This is by far the worst. We dropped our bags in our room and hurried out to take part in pre-wedding activities. When we returned to our room (fairly late that night) we discovered the air conditioning did not work. My husband requested a room change. We were put in a second room that we were later informed "should not have been in service" as it had a large machine in the middle of the floor to evaporate the smell of smoke from previous occupants. The third room we were put in was tiny. Each room they moved us to was progressively smaller. When I did online check-in I requested housekeeping services. We received none of that and we were showering and changing clothes a lot, so the requested housekeeping would have been nice, if only for some dry towels and replenishment of coffee and tea in our room. Our shower had very low water pressure. I am aware of low flow shower heads but the trickle of water coming out made it impossible for me to shampoo my hair in the shower. I should not have had to resort to the vanity sink; Not in a Marriott. When I spoke with other members of the wedding party I was informed their shower also had little pressure and one said the water would not get hot. This hotel is deceiving when you arrive as the lobby and bar area are quite nice. Our THREE rooms were all sub-par. Since we were so busy over the weekend with wedding commitments, we did not have time to chat with management to request at least a partial credit for the debacle that was changing rooms three times and ending up in a tiny, dark corner room. Today when my husband spoke with someone at this hotel he was told not adjustments can be made to our bill. This is ridiculous as it is 2024 with leaps and bounds in technology. This Marriott needs to take a serious look at its rooms and "customer service." We spent a lot of money on hotel food and beverages. If we ever travel to Houston again, rest assured we will NOT stay at this property again.
