The supervisor of the front desk is very rude. Didn’t like how one of her employees did provide information and wanting to charge us for something we didn’t know nothing about. I asked to speak to her supervisor she said she don’t have one I said what’s your name and she hung up on me. What great customer service you have lady. You are a disgrace to this hotel.

Beautiful atmosphere. Too heavy of a scent when you enter the lobby. Are there any places that don't do the designer perfumes for their venue? Those of us who are sensitive to these things suffer!

We stayed here back in April while visiting family in the area. It was hands down the cleanest hotel and Marriott we've ever stayed in. The staff was exceptionally helpful and kind and the food options and quality in the bistro were great! There is even a pool and gym that were both clean and well appointed. We also got an opportunity to view their event space on the top floor. WOW!! The views were incredible.
It's also a great location. It's across the street from Kinnick stadium and the University of Iowa Hospital. You're close to all the great activities in the area but far enough away from downtown for peace and quiet at night. Highly recommend.

Overall good experience. A bit noisy at New Year’s Eve. Some neighbors are celebrating with loud music. Also no free breakfast, which is a bit inconvenient.

Way too full of themselves. Will not be back. Marriott has a policy that Lifetime Platinum members are offered a breakfast option if there is not a lounge. I travel 75+ nights per year for work and other Courtyards offer a breakfast voucher. When I asked at the front desk the young man told me “we don’t participate in that”. Well I thought Courtyard was a Marriott so don’t they have to participate in Marriott policies? I am here with my special needs son for a medical appointment and now I have to go out in the morning to find him breakfast because the options here are so limited and expensive. I could care less about being by Kinnick or having a bar on a weeknight when we’re here for a medical appointment. Horrible customer service. Plus it is more expensive than comparable Marriott properties in the area.

Easy to get to, friendly and efficient staff, as well as spectacular rooms (nice, modern furnishings, lighting, and bathroom). Both the room and the hotel in general were exceptionally clean. The only thing that was slightly off-putting was the morning exercise class that could be heard in the room (it sounded like a very loud conversation or tv in the next room but, once you were outside, was clearly an exercise class). Otherwise, a perfect stay and we’d happily come back!

Amazing hotel. Worked with us when our daughter was getting surgery at the university of iowa childrens hospital. Made it so easy and much less stressful to plan.

I've stayed here a few times. Rooms are nice - always spotless! Coffee (not free) is weak and overpriced. I could probably do without the perfumed lobby area, but the fitness facilities are good and well-maintained, and parking was adequate. I was frustrated on my last visit when the front desk said that Marriott gold elite members don't get free upgrades (when available); I'd been told otherwise at other Marriott hotels. When I pulled up Marriott's policy on my phone, the only response I got was that there were no upgrades available. That could have been true, but how about a more customer-friendly response? I was told that the manager has a sign hanging behind the check-in area listing the benefits for various member tiers, and his/her benefits don't really agree with Marriott's. Good to know.
