Horrible Experience at the Hyatt – Would Never Stay Again

I rarely write reviews, but the nightmare of a stay we had at the Hyatt deserves one. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill fast. The shower in our room was incredibly slippery – we almost slipped and fell four separate times throughout the week, and I now have two large bruises on my shins as a result. The hotel clearly does not take safety seriously.

Then there was the water pressure. It was terrible throughout our stay. We had issues with no hot water at all, but things got worse on the last night. In the middle of my shower, the water completely shut off. The staff moved us to another room, but guess what? That room had no water either. I had to use cold sink water in an empty water bottle to rinse off soap. Absolutely ridiculous for a hotel of this caliber.

To top it off, after we told them we had already used sink water and were just going to bed because of our morning flight, they still insisted on sending someone up to let us know the issue had been resolved in the middle of the night at 2:30 AM, waking all of us up. Then, just hours later, at 8 AM, another staff member came to our room to “check” on the situation, waking us up AGAIN. At this point, we were exhausted, frustrated, and ready to leave.

To make matters worse, the hotel didn’t offer any kind of compensation or even a sincere apology for the inconvenience. This hotel couldn’t care less about its guests. We came to Omaha to visit our daughter in the Navy, and we had planned to return twice a year. After this experience, there’s no way we’ll be staying here again. If you’re looking for a place that values customer satisfaction, do yourself a favor and choose somewhere else.

Within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and coffee/ice cream shops. Was on a business trip and had to check in after 11pm and checkout a couple days later by 4am, and each process was very quick and seamless. The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were very clean and very modern. The only suggestion I have would be to advertise the complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby. I was never told about it and kind of just stumbled upon it. It's a great perk and should probably be mentioned to every guest as they check-in.

Would have loved to give this location a 5 star rating, however one personal importance to me is the quality of the bed. The Hyatt has tastefully updated the rooms, but the beds and pillows appear to have been overlooked. Having said that the staff at the front desk offered exceptional service. Location is prime for accessing the Old Market area which gives you great access to a number of wonderful dining options.

Great place to stay. My bed was comfortable, and the number of pillows were perfect. The bar was my only complaint but there is plenty of bars within walking distance. We had some great dinners and drinks in nearby places. Our check in was super easy and Kat made it a fun experience.

Love the location of this hotel. It’s near a lot of great restaurants, bars, and shops. There is even an ice cream shop across the street.||The room I had (room 723) had hard wood floors, which I love since carpet can get gross and smelly. The room was clean and the bathroom is large.||I did have some issues with my room, which happened the last time I stayed here as well (and they put me in the same room):|-drain in the shower didn’t work well |-walls needs painting and touch ups|-the light in the hallway entrance of my room didn’t work so I had to get ready for work in the dark (only the night stand light worked)|-the air didn’t turn on even though I set the fan on high and the room to 67 so the room felt stuffy all night ||There is a parking garage attached so that was very convenient and you don’t have to check in before parking. The gym was simple and clean, had everything I needed. ||I will still come back for when I’m in town for business but I do hope there are some updates made.

Nice rooms, secure, great location and view, decent breakfast. The 2 minor complaints is the thermostat in room consistently clicking on and off entire stay. It would have been nice to have been told upon check in - if using the parking garage do NOT turn your keys in until you leave. I was unable to get out of parking garage and had to call a number listed which is automated to get to the front desk for them to open gate, which still didn't help and I had to use someone else's key that was behind me in the multiple car line I held up. Other then that It was a great relaxing stay.

What a perfect location! We paid with points so parking was free, but they said it would be $25 (if I remember correctly) if we did have to pay for a night. The parking garage is connected to the hotel and there is an elevator.
The rooms were clean. We walked everywhere in Old market. Lots to see and eat. Breakfast included. If you are a light sleeper, don't stay here, it can be louder at night since it is in the heart of downtown.

Stayed 5 nights and would gladly stay again. Excellent location in the Old Market area with plenty of nightlife. Recommend restaurants La Buvette and The Boiler Room. Typical Hyatt Place room with L-shaped couch. Recently renovated I think. Convenient attached garage. Best views from East side. Highly recommend.
